It’s not everyday you get to head up to a new funky hotel in the remoter regions of Norway. The Bergen division of Link Arkitektur AS have designed a new exciting space to relax after a day exploring the Fjords. Whilst the hotel is part of the Nordic Choice Hotels group it has a very individualistic atmosphere largely created by some unusual colorful artwork exhibited throughout the hotel space.
A bold use of reds, yellows and oranges provides warmth to a part of the world that is not exactly renowned for it’s sunshine! We arrived under a blanket of grey cloud just before it started raining. Luckily the interior space was our primary focus for this shoot with just an overview for reference of the exterior on the shoot list. An adjoining office block is currently under construction designed in the same visual language to provided an intergrated aesthetic to this exciting city development. Hopefully we will be back to document the innercity dock renovation when it is fully completed.
Here’s a few examples of Link Arkitektur’s usage of our images on their website:
Having worked with Caro Communications for many years it is always exciting when we have the opportunity to collaborate with a new client on their books. MoreySmith was formed in 1993 and the practice has made memorable designs for an impressive list of blue chip organisations, innovative property developers and informal media companies.
We were commissioned to document this project after it had already been documented by a different photographer that failed to satisfy MoreySmith’s high expectations. Forming a relationship under these circumstances raises the bar for quality, and puts a little extra pressure on. We relished the challenge! Let us know if you think we succeeded?
A new 15,000sq ft, London headquarters for Moët Hennessy UK has been designed. Modern interiors are inserted into the Grade II listed, Georgian building which create an environment that reflects the famous drink brands prestigious history.
A half day of photography was allocated to the project. Working quickly with minimal disturbance to the daily operation of the business was essential. Some minor re-organisation of furniture and a few flower props were required to let the interior sing.
MoreySmith developed innovative solutions for lighting and product display. Strong focus was placed on the extremely high quality finish, with attention to detail and luxurious materials reflecting the companies heritage.
As historically sensitive locations, in a key metropolis go, it doesn’t get any more significant. @CapitaSymonds have delivered a sensitive renovation of the well known chaotic transport interchange of Green Park Underground Station. The station sits nestled in between @theritzlondon and the Royal Green Park on Piccadilly.
The building has been designed at a low height with apertures through the central structure, allowing for minimal disturbance to park views. The metal clad curved green roof provides a sheltering spot for those London downpours, while you wait for the 38 bus!
On the photography front you could call it a nightmare location to photograph. With my @HasselbladUK set up on a @manfrotto_tweet and about 50,000 commuters running past every hour, more intent on tweeting than looking out for obstacles, it made for a challenging site. When a quiet period arrived and the sun come out I could guarantee that the 38 bus would roll in to frame. All part of the fun of working in London. I was lucky with a beautiful blue sky as dusk fell over the city.
