Blue Diamond discovered in Doncaster!

Doncaster is not renowned for it’s iconic architecture (St George’s Church is an exception) but the newly developed Doncaster Civic Quarter is providing some gems.

We were recently commissioned by Cartwright Pickard Architects to photograph one of their most ambitious projects to date. The Doncaster Civic Office BREEAM Excellent workplace is designed for 1,200 staff. The council chamber adds a touch of drama in an area of the town that is surrounded by oppressive 60s / 70s concrete structures. Clad with coloured glazed terracotta baguettes and a large glazed corner window overlooking the new square it allows passers by to observe democracy in action.

It will be exciting to see how this new injection of energy helps to regenerate the town.
